About me

My name is John and I’m an independent and inclusive celebrant based in Perth, Scotland. I offer a unique and personal touch when it comes to arranging weddings, funerals and naming ceremonies.

I have spent most of my adult life working in the charity sector in the UK and abroad. From developing and championing hospice care in Moldova and Romania, to youth employment project management for the Prince’s Trust in Greece, to leading a fundraising team for Scotland’s leading HIV charity in Edinburgh, helping and empowering the community has always been at the forefront of my values and actions. Travel is my passion and I am available to conduct ceremonies all over Scotland, and across the globe. I also speak Romanian, so I’d welcome the opportunity to work in my second language. 

During my career, I have hosted and spoken at international and national events, organised both faith-based and non-faith-based services and I received the British Empire Medal in Queen Elizabeth II’s Birthday Honours List in 2014 for services to charitable work and the community.

My roles have always been people-focused and all these experiences help me in my role as a celebrant. I offer bespoke custom-made ceremonies and I would be delighted to work with you.
